[ CHARACTER INFORMATION ]
Name: Finn the Human
Age: 13 and appears to be 13
Gender: Male
Fandom: Adventure Time the T.V series
Timeline: What Was Missing? Episode 10 of Season 3. The end of it after he ran away from Marceline.
History:
Here!Character Personality: Once upon a time, long ago, there was a little baby boy left alone on a mountain. The last human in existence, to be exact. It was then when he decided to go boom boom on a leaf. Unfortunately, the poor child fell over backwards in his own boom boom, causing him to start wailing. He cried and he cried but everyone walked by him, acting like they didn't notice him. After a full day of crying, someone finally, finally noticed him and adopted them into their family. It was on that day that that child vowed to answer to anyone's problems, no matter how small.
Finn has a great heart and he is most often called a hero. He loves everything that is pure and innocent, and adorable. He will feel simply terrible if he let anything harm anything or anyone that was completely innocent, he feels even worse if he brings any harm to them. He is willing to do anything and everything for everyone, he'll even do tasks as small as getting music for people who want to dance. Thanks to his heroic tendencies and pure heart, he can be kind of a pushover. As long as you're a good person or if you're cute, he will seriously do anything for you. He tries to help everyone because if everyone is safe and happy, he's happy. (He is more accustomed to helping out princesses though, they tend to get the most trouble.)
Just because he's a hero doesn't mean he's not a kid though! He enjoys things like video games. He's into video games so much that he once risked his life and Jakes just to be in a video game. Yes, in a video game. The game is pretty easy when you're playing it by hand but little did Finn and Jake know, it was a lot harder than it looked. They almost died in there and if it weren't for Jake corrupting the game, they would have been goners. But it was still a fun game all around. Along with video games, Finn loves exploring the outdoors and going on adventures with Jake. He loves to do things outside more often then inside. He'd much rather go out and endure real life then sit inside and use his imagination. Also, using his imagination isn't that bad. Another thing Finn loves to do is pull pranks. Pranks, pranks, pranks. They're completely hilarious and great ways to get back at someone! Finn could seriously prank someone for days if he had to. They're a healthy part of life, a healthy part of life that Finn really enjoys. Finn also tends to break into song when he's happy, excited, or when things seem bleak. Singing is a great way to lift the spirits you know!
However, there are some downsides to being a 13 year old hero. Such as he can be a little immature at times and he can be a little blind. Such as going into a dangerous dungeon without the help of his magical dog, making a bet that he could get the treasure within the dungeon alone. You see, his magical dog is his partner, the peanutbutter to his jelly, and also he is one of the main reasons why Finn can win so many battles. Finn isn't powerless without him, persay. He's a very strong boy and has basically no fears (he does have one though, thalassinophobia; the fear of the ocean. He can go into any other bodies of water just not the ocean. Never the ocean.) But in some situations, Finn may be too short to reach a ledge, or he could be falling from a giant height and unable to catch himself, or he could be lacking a keyhand when he really needs it. Jake is his best friend and brother and he often needs Jake to be able to do adventuring and fighting. His immaturity is mostly present when love is involved. On couple's movie night, he took Marcelene as a friend, unaware that everyone would actually be kissing and that there would be kissing in the actual movie. As the kissing scene appears in front of Finn's very eyes, he pukes. Kissing is just waaaaaaay too gross and intimate for an adventurer such as himself. Finn can also be a little arrogant at times but he's a pre-teen! He'll get better over the years.
Also, a little note. Finn uses math terms a lot of the time. Such as "Mathematical!", "Rhombus!", and "Algebraiec!". He also uses terms such as "Shmowzow!" and "Slamacow".
Character Abilities: This includes your characters special abilities, such as powers or supernatural skills, as well as normal ones. Martial arts, above average intelligence, problem-solving - anything that you feel is relevant. One to two in-depth and well-written paragraphs are a minimum.
Character Weaknesses: This section is very important to our deliberations and basically talks about the various weaknesses of your character. This should include the following: psychological, emotional, and physical weaknesses. If they are lacking in any one of these, please try to make up for it in the section below. This section can also include anything from a phobia of being hit by large trucks, to character flaws, to a horrible bee allergy. One to two in-depth and well-written paragraphs are a minimum.
[ SOUL CAMPAIGN SECTION ]
What are the abilities that your character will retain in Soul Campaign? Out of the things that you have elaborated and listed in the abilities section, what are the abilities that you think your character will be able to keep in Soul Campaign? What are the adjustments to these abilities, if applicable? Please be reminded that the 'physics' or power levels of your character's canon may largely differ from that of the Soul Eater's. Just because your character is physically strong enough to crush cars with their fingers in their canon as a physical, non-supernatural ability doesn't mean that it will carry over to Soul Campaign. At most, they will be of 'above-average' strength. Bullet points are all right for this section.
What are the weaknesses that your character will lose or gain in Soul Campaign? Out of the things that you have elaborated and listed in the weaknesses section, what are the weaknesses that you think your character will lose upon coming to Soul Campaign? For that matter, what are the weaknesses that you think your character will gain in Soul Campaign? For example, if their abilities are removed from them, will they be as helpless as a baby? Bullet points are all right for this section.
Keeping the game’s premise in mind, please give us a brief explanation of your plans for your character in Soul Campaign.
Sample answers (but feel free to come up with answers outside of these):
“My character is a shonen hero and will be a beneficial addition to the game not only for his abilities but also for his personality. Apart from that, I also think that the setting of Soul Campaign will be good for character development and challenging the character to adjust to unique situations he has never faced before.”
“My character is a villain, and it is in his nature to try and make trouble in the place. It will be fun to figure out how to execute his villainy in the game (without getting caught) and contribute to game plot.”
“My character may be a villain, but he is capable of working for a purpose, and if his purpose is to help win this war, he will be able to contribute well to the cause.”
“I want to help castmates and other characters with their own development, while forging ones of my own.”
“My character is young, but he will be willing to help the war effort in any way he can. The setting will make my character want to be stronger to fight for the people he wants to protect.”
“My character is the sort that thrives in this sort of setting. My character is non-confrontational in nature, but shows the potential to grow rapidly when under stress. I want to see how he will react to a situation like SC’s war.”
“I want my character to learn how to make friends and to hold other people valuable to himself.”
If your character has difficulty communicating (or can't communicate at all, e.g., most animal characters), we require you to please elaborate on how you intend to treat this in the game. We don’t mean the inability to communicate because they do not like talking to other people, but physical or other quirks that disallow them to resort to the normal communication methods employed by most characters in the game. (For example: Celty Sturluson doesn’t have a head, which means she can’t talk and doesn’t have a face, but she can type text messages.) Discard this part if your character doesn’t have this sort of quirk.
[ MEISTER ONLY SECTION ]
Why your character should be a Meister: Explain why you think your character was chosen to be a Meister, and why they are suitable for the position. The definition of a Meister can be found here. "My character doesn't like to be controlled" is no longer an acceptable answer to this question. As Meisters and Weapons are equal partners, we feel this answer doesn't really show an apper's understanding of the Meister-Weapon bond.
Meister Ability: Pick the top three Meister abilities from this page that you would prefer your character to have. The mods will pick one of these based on our interpretation of your character's abilities and personality, but it helps if you explain your selection to us.
[ WEAPON ONLY SECTION ]
Why your character should be a Weapon: Explain why you think your character was chosen to be a Weapon, and why they are suitable for the position. The definition of a Weapon can be found here. "My character is weak" or "My character is a wimp" is no longer an acceptable answer to this question. There should be a significant explanation as to why a character would change into a Weapon form.
What is your character's Weapon form?: Describe the weapon form your character takes and their abilities as a Weapon. Please be detailed, as this information will be set after apping - you cannot add to this section later without petitioning the mods for permission to do so. Provide an explanation as to why you have chosen this form for your character and how it suits them. Remember that a Weapon's form does not have to be a conventional weapon. If your character uses a signature weapon that is unusual, that may be a good choice, but a swordmaster does not necessarily have to be a sword.
Weapons may not have more than four abilities and they may not have more than one form. They may fold up or change their original form slightly, but such changes will be looked at closely before they are allowed.
Weapons may only be one piece. It's alright if several pieces are connected by a chain, however, they may not have fully separate pieces - this would mean literally cutting their body in half. Gun or projectile-type weapons may not have a partial form.
Weapon abilities can range from one single large power-based attack, to up to four lesser-power based attacks. A guideline to possible Weapon abilities can be found here:
★ Weapons with alternative forms
★ Weapons with healing based abilities
★ Weapons with attack based abilities
★ Weapons with elemental based abilities
★ Non-standard Weapon abilities
These are only examples to five different Weapon types and ability possibilities. Players are not limited to these five areas and are encouraged to be creative. However, all abilities for Weapons are subject to mod approval. Ability suggestions will be given or revisions asked for if the mods feel as though the ability is too overpowered.
Weapons naturally start out weak, since part of the game is finding ways to gain strength through resonance and missions. As a suggestion, try to make sure that the weapon abilities have corresponding restrictions and limitations (for example: energy drain, can only be used a select number of times, can only be used for a limited amount of time, requires various triggering conditions like resonance/various actions, will cause damage to the meister/weapon, cannot be controlled properly, can be contested by opponent's stronger willpower or wavelength, limited radius of effect, side effects, etc etc etc). If you have any questions/concerns regarding your Weapon ability, feel free to email: soulcampaign@gmail.com
Examples of both Weapons and Meisters can be found in the Meister and Weapon Directories.
[ SOUL INFORMATION ]
Soul Description: Describe your character's soul in six adjectives. For example, are they predominantly brave, strong, independent, cruel? List them in order of relevance.
Soul Appearance: What does your soul look like to someone with Soul Perception? Be creative and remember that the appearance of a soul should directly reflect its owner. Some examples are Tsubaki's soul, Soul and Maka's souls, Kid, Liz, and Patti's souls, Stein's soul and Chrona's soul. Soul colours, sizes, and physical features are a representation of the character - they should speak of the personality or physical appearance (although as a rule, everyone starts out with average-sized soul upon entering the game). The only colour you may not use is dark purple, as it tends to be the representation of witches and the evil weapons in the series. Wings are also not allowed as a feature of the soul, because it has a special meaning in the Soul Eater canon. Besides writing a description you may instead draw, sculpt, paint, tattoo or in any way artistically represent your character's soul via a link in this section. (Please nothing inappropriate.)
[ SAMPLES ]
First Person: A first person sample, in the form of a post to the DEMISE network.
Third Person: A third person sample of your character set during the last minutes they have in their world, and their first glimpse of the kishin chamber. We prefer something at least two or three paragraphs long. This sample is a MUST. You may not recycle samples from other games unless they adhere to this requirement.
